I am not sure if I really know where to start with this wedding because it was one of my favourite weddings this season. It took me back to my childhood. To that time when we played on Africa on Foot with animals roaming the game farm freely, pouring cold water over the person showering under the open air shower, sitting around the boma fires till late at night listening to the sounds of the hyenas in the background and being handed a bucket to use as a toilet during the night because you were not permitted to leave your room due to the lions passing through the camp…
Géna, my second shooter for the wedding, and I were welcomed as if we were part of the family and I enjoyed telling her stories of the guests I knew from way back then and catching up with them all were so much fun! I can’t remember when last I laughed that much.
The farm brought back beautiful memories of all the kids I used to play with and this day I was covering one of the twins’ wedding day. Cecilia looked absolutely gorgeous with her stunning dress. No more farm girl, but a beautiful young lady marrying the man of her dreams. Her down-to-earth personality and love for the people around her made for a very special day. She and Courtney shares a special bond which showed in the way they reacted towards each other. Their love for one another showed during the ceremony and couple shoot.
Cecilia and Courtney, I really enjoyed spending your special day with you and truly believe that you were made for each other! I would definitely drive 1300 km in one weekend to do this all over again!
